ಇಂಡೊಲೊಜಿ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆ -7 – ಅಲೆಗ್ಸಾಂಡರ್ ಡಫ್ ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷ್ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಕಾನೂನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬದಾಲವಣೆಯನ್ನು ತಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅನೇಕ ಮಿಶನರಿಗಳು ಮುಕ್ತವಾಗಿ ಭಾರತವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಲಾರಂಬಿಸಿದವು . ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖನಾದ ವಿಲಿಯಮ್ ಕ್ಯಾರಿಯ  ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಸಂಚಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿದೆವು . ಈ ಸಂಚಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೆಲವರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸಂಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಯೋಣ .  ಅಲೆಗ್ಸಾಂಡರ್ ಡಫ್ ( Alexander Duff -1806-1878) ಇವನು ಭಾರತದ ಉನ್ನತಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ (Higher education) ನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಷ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ  ಪಾಶ್ಚಾತ್ಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ಅದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಬೈಬಲ್ ಅಧ್ಯಯನವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿದನು .  ಚರ್ಚ ಆಫ್ ಸ್ಕೊಟ್ಲ್ಯಾಂಡ್ (Church of Scotland) ತನ್ನ ಮೊದಲ ಮಿಶನರಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸುವ ಚಿಂತನೆಯಲ್ಲಿತ್ತು . ಆಗ ತಾನೆ ಡಫ್ ತನ್ನ ವ್ಯಾಸಾಂಗವನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿದ್ದನು .ಇವನನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಕತ್ತಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿರುವ ಜೆನೆರಲ್ ಅಸೆಂಬ್ಲಿ ಇಂಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯುಷನ್ (General assembly institution)  ಎಂಬ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸುಪರಿಡೆಂಟೆಂಟ್ ಹುದ್ದೆಗೆ ನಿಯೋಜಿಸಿತು . ಎರಡು ಬಾರಿ ಅವನು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಸುತಿದ್ದ ಹಡಗು ಸಮುದ್ರದಲ್ಲಾಗುವ ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿ ಮುಂತಾದ ತೊಂದರೆಗಳಿಂದ ನಾಶವಾಯಿತು . ಆದರೂ 1830 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರನೆಯ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಲ್ಕತ್ತೆಗೆ ಬಂದು ಸೇರಿದನು . ಅವನು ಸ್ಕೊಟಿಷ್ ಚರ್ಚಸ್ ಕಾಲೆಜನ್ನು...

Śrī Madhvācārya and             the Doctrine of  Bhakti                                     Dr.Shrinidhi S Pyati  I ntroduction .  Śrī Madhvācārya, a prominent proponent of Tattvavāda (Dvaita philosophy), places bhakti (devotion) at the core of his theological framework. He establishes through authoritative pramāṇas (scriptural evidence) that the paramaprasāda (supreme grace) of Lord Vishnu is the sole means to attain mokṣa (liberation).
